Epic 8′s

June 9th, 2010 by jessicah

This year was fantastic!  Being in Mr. McIntosh’s class is really fun, everyday we a have great time.  It was also great having Ms Saas with us for half of the year, we had tried so many different things then we usually have ever done in school with her.  Mr McIntosh and Ms Saas are really great teachers.

One of the great times that we had was going SKIING!  It was so much fun..it was my first time going with the class.  I thought I was pretty good when we were practicing with the instructor, so when we were done that we were pulled up the hill by the “tow rope.”  I wanted to practice on the bunny hill but Marissa wanted to go on the Practice hill where you had to pass.  I was so excited I wasn’t thinking straight and I agreed.  So Marissa had went first, I thought she was amazing skiier but when she was nearly done and was at the bottom of the hill, I just remember her making a Epic FALL!  At the moment I felt bad for her incase she was hurt, but after thinking about it, it was hilarious she was just tumbling down the hill…but anyways it wasn’t as bad as my fall…it was pretty sad. :( (Which you can read my sad story on Marissa’s blog, I think she’s really excited to post it:P) But next time I should practice more on the bunny hill.

Another great field trip we went to was going to the Univeristy of Regina we had a great time there hanging out with the University partners and we had went on a scavanger hunt with them.  Another place that we went with our school was Garndier Dam, we had learneed alot of things that day.

Honestly I’m going to miss the times that we had in this classroom, I hope that we all stay in touch.  Because I’m going to miss everyone so MUCH! :)

     Yours truly,

This Week

May 19th, 2010 by jessicah

Its almost the end of the school year for me, and then next year I get to go to high school, I’m kinda nervous about it but at the same I’m really excited.  Well so far our two weeks of swimming had ended, and we are now catching up on work.  Its driving me INSANE!! We have to work on math alone and everyone are at different places in math, and I’m slacking way terribly.   We had also finished reading Jean Val Jean, which I kinda really liked reading.    Oh yeah!  We had also gotten our grad pictures taken, I’m really excited to see those, but I’m pretty sure there going to look horrible just like everyone of my school pictures throughout Elementary School.    But yeah the school year is ending quite quick, and summer is coming really soon!  But I’m really sad to because I’m going to miss all of my friends that are going to another school, I just hope we all stay in contact and still be as close as we are right now.

So that’s  just pretty much my week so far.

Body Image

May 18th, 2010 by jessicah

Today in Health we saw a video about body image and what guys and girls think about there body, and we learned what people who have anorexia or bulimia feel like and what they think about there body and why they starve themselves.  In that video it showed that the girls have had the need to change more than guys, but we soon learned that guys have just the same amount of pressure to look a certain way.  The girls in that video had wanted to skinny, tall, etc.. and they thought that if they looked that certain way certain clothings would look better on them.  Most of the girls got influenced to look that way and think that they should look that way is because of looking at magazines or billboard ads and photos and ads from the internet.  But they soon learned that most pictures are edited or photoshopped severly making them look different then they really are.

Haiti

I woke.  My head was throbbing with pain, my memorie was foggy, and I was completely dazed from what had just happened.  I slowly got up grasping for the closes object.  I collapsed to the ground with a thud.  My body was shaking, I slowly raised my leg but numbness made my leg crash to the ground.  Little dust fly into the air causing clouds of dust in the atmosphere.  Choking from the dust, I slowly got up on my elbows.  With a quick blink I saw what I was surrounded by.  Fields of dead bodies surrounded my presence.  The smell of blood made me disoriented.  Tears fill my eyes, the sight was saddening.  My mother slathered in blood.  Wounds covered the people I loved.  Pieces of buildings clattered all over the place.  My sight got fainter and my eyes close, I lay on the ground.  All I heard were the endless crys of children.

Divorce

January 28th, 2010 by jessicah

Hey, heres a story I wrote for L.A :

With a thrash, the door slammed shut, causing vibrations to run throughout the house. I stood up, walked towards the door. The scent of my dad’s cologne filled the air. From the strides of his step, I could tell he was leaving. My face grew hot, my eyes watered; causing pelts of water to splash onto my shirt. I raised my hand and grabbed at his arm and pulled with a tug. He jolted to a stop. He turned around staring at me with eyes of fury; his eyebrow’s arched, and his lips clenched in a line of anger. My body tensed for what would come next. I opened my mouth to say don’t leave. But his face softened when he saw rivers of tears run down my face. He shook his arm loose and left. I slid onto the floor, my head on my knees and heard the crys of my mother. The battle was lost.

Christmas Break & New Years:)

January 6th, 2010 by jessicah

My Christmas break was pretty boring, but I was glad that I didn’t have to go to school for 2 weeks.  During the break I hung out with my friends, and did some last minute shopping for Christmas.  For Christmas we got a Wii…now I’m just waiting for the day where my brother throws it into the t.v.   The New Years was boring too, I stayed up on the computer with my friends talking till the New Year!  But ever since the break my sleeping as been messed up,  usually I go to bed at 2 a.m and then wake up at 1 p.m, so I found it really hard to wake up for school today. :(

Field Trip!

November 10th, 2009 by jessicah

Our field trip to Gardnier Dam was really fun, most of the time we were on the bus, but it was still fun.  Walking the skytrail was really cool too, (but it was longer really than I thought)  The field trip taught us alot of things about power and water.

The Nun

November 10th, 2009 by jessicah

The nun was about to go to her next class when she stumbled across an hold blue suitcase.  She slowly got on her feet to examine the object, and there she saw a sticky note taped to the side.  “Please return this suitcase to me if you have found it, and please return to this address, signed Ed”   And there next to the fancy writing was a number and an address.  The next thing she did was get into a cab to find the owner, the address that the man had given her was a computer store.  She went in and asked the owner if this was his suitcase, but it wasn’t.  She stormed out of the store and decided to phone him instead.  Nobody picked up, so she just left the suitcase by the door and left.
